This is the most fun I've had with an action toy in 20 years.(I hated skate boards) It's hard to do, but delivers a great sense of satisfaction when you finally get on it and actually go more that 6 feet. After that you can't stop smiling. I now manage to stay on it between 2 and 6 minutes at a shot after about 6 2hr sessions over a four week period.(slow learner but determined) It really wears you out and I need a few days for the newly discovered muscles in my legs to recover and build strength. Its a great legs workout without actually 'working' out. Check out youtube for how to videos. Now for the scary part. When you start out, especially if you are an adult or a very mature adult like myself, you have to pad yourself so that when you fall you don't get injured. Understand this; the way that you fall off a ripstik is mostly backwards, onto your hip or butt or tail bone or elbow. I wrap a 2in thick piece of foam around my hips and back and secure it with an oversized pair of jeans I bought for the purpose.(makes me look beefy) I also wear elbow pads and my bicycle helmet, (yea I ride a bike too, but this is much more fun). I've only fallen a few times but the foam padding did the trick and I was able to get up laughing.(instead of needing a wheel chair.) I also wore knee pads when I started but came to realize that you just step off when you lose it leaning forward.Happy Rip'in
